The Thanksgiving Day holiday will be observed on Thursday, November 26, 2009.  City of Tucson Environmental Services will NOT collect residential or commercial garbage and recycling on Thursday and the Los Reales Landfill will be closed. Customers with plastic containers whose regular collection day is Thursday or Friday will have their garbage and recycling service delayed by one day. Environmental Services commercial customers with metal containers will not receive service on Thursday.  Collections will resume on Friday.

Environmental Services provides Tucson citizens and businesses with trash collection and disposal. Other services include:

• Operating the City's Los Reales Landfill in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Cleaning up groundwater at old landfills.
• Ensuring that the City's air quality and industrial waste discharge permits are up-to-date and in compliance.
